A 21-year-old woman was molested allegedly by three men, working at a car stereo repair shop, in the presence of her husband and brother-in-law in northeast Delhi on Monday evening.

The victim’s husband and brother-in-law were attacked with an iron rod by the accused when they resisted their misbehaviour. The couple work in a private finance company in Noida.

Police registered a case in connection with the incident and have arrested Rajesh Shah, one of the three accused.

The other two accused are absconding and police are looking for them.

According to a police officer, the incident took place on Monday evening when the woman was returning to her Subhash Park residence from Noida with her husband Subhash and brother-in-law Anish in their car.

“On their way back home, the three stopped their car outside a car stereo repair shop on Wazirabad Road to get the music system of their vehicle repaired. Three mechanics were repairing the music system when Anish went to a nearby shop to purchase some parts of the stereo while Subhash went away from the car talking to someone over the phone,” said the police officer.

Seeing the victim alone in the car, the officer said, one of the three mechanics misbehaved with her when she was trying to come out of the vehicle.

The victim protested after which the three men allegedly dragged her inside the shop and started molesting her.

“The victim screamed for help, hearing which her husband and brother-in-law immediately arrived at the shop. They tried to rescue her and in the process got assaulted by the miscreants with a rod. The victims somehow managed to flee from the spot and later made a call to the police control room,” added the officer.
