Who else besides leaders seeking ticket are eagerly waiting for final lists of candidates from various political parties? The banner and flagwalas. More than 100 traders in the state capital are desperately waiting for final lists of candidates from each political party. As soon as the
lists are released, the parties would start canvassing, kicking off the business of banners and flags.

Osaf Bhai, a trader, whose shop is located in Inamullah building, told Hindustan Times, "We are prepared to furnish poll material to respective parties. As soon as the final list is announced, there will be heavy demand of poll material, flagging off our business."

Whether the lotus symbol, hand or even cup-plate and chair, these traders are all set with their poll material. From banners, flags, flexes and even kiosks, enough stocks are ready for instant supply. "Much before political parties, we were prepared to furnish poll material. We have everything ready, flags, banners, flexes and others material. We are waiting for parties to give a green signal for supply," Sunny, another trader, said.

One of the most important articles of canvassing, flags are available in three sizes—small, medium and large, each costing between  Rs. 3 to 10. Flags are the most common material also used post election by parties.

Subhash, another trader in Arhat Bazar said, "There's a good business of flags during elections. Flags with party symbols never get old. They can be used even after elections. Therefore, we get a handsome demand of flags."

In addition, these traders have also prepared banners. These banners depict party symbols in bold and have free space for the candidate's picture. These banners can be used during canvassing. "We keep some space for the picture of candidates so that at the last minute, we can fix his picture on the banner. Otherwise, the banners are all prepared. Party symbol and colour of the banner that are major highlights are well designed and manufactured," Sameer, another trader said.
