Restrictions on the movement of passenger trains during night in Maoist-affected areas of Orissa and West Bengal will continue till Aug 11, the East Coast Railway said in Bhubaneswar on Friday. "In view of security reasons, running of the passenger trains on Kharagpur-Rourkela and
Kharagpur-Adra section will continue to remain suspended during night hours from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m up to  August 11," the railway said in a statement.

"Accordingly, some trains have been diverted, re-scheduled and regulated," it said.

The Puri-Haridwar-Puri Utkal Express will continue to run via Jharsuguda-Sambalpur-Cuttack and vice versa instead of Jharsuguda-Tata-Kharagpur-Cuttack.

Similarly, the Howrah-Koraput-Howrah Express will run via Howrah-Kharagpur-Bhadrak-Angul-Sambalpur and vice versa instead of Howrah-Kharagpur-Tata-Jharsuguda-Sambalpur, it said.

The Puri-Patna Baidyanathdham Express Aug 9 and the Puri-Guwahati Kamakhya Express will be rescheduled to leave Puri at 10 p.m. instead of 2.05 p.m., it said.

The Bhubaneswar-New Delhi Orissa Sampark Kranti Express Aug 8 and Aug 11 will be re-scheduled to leave Bhubaneswar at 10.00 p.m. instead of 3.40 p.m., it said.

The New Delhi-Puri Purushottam Express will run on its normal route- Gomoh-Bokaro Steel City-Purulia-Tata, and on the days it is running even marginally behind the schedule, it shall be stopped at Tata upto 5.00 a.m. of next day.

The railway has been restricting the movement of passenger trains during the night on the Maoists affected route due to security reasons, following the May 28 Gyaneshwari Express disaster in West Bengal in which 148 people were killed.
