Police today detained 25 India Against Corruption (IAC) volunteers for about two hours after they clashed with the contractual teachers at the busy Dal Bunglow roundabout here.
The IAC workers were agitating in favour of prohibition of liqour when some protesting contractual teachers pushed and shoved them, that sparked a scuffle between the two groups, police said.
Police rushed to the spot to separate the warring groups and detained 25 IAC workers for disrupting traffic.
The detenues were brought to Kotwali police station where they were kept for about two hours before being released.
