Flowers are supposed to soothe frayed tempers and said to bring peace. But not in the case of an 18-year-old youth who lost his life just because of flowers!

Pintu Yadav of Moti Tola in Ara town plucked flowers from the house of Amresh Pandey at Anand Nagar in the same area several days ago. As Pandey did not like it, a scuffle broke out over the issue.

An enraged Pintu and his supporters attacked the house of Amresh on Sunday evening and a violent fight ensued. Pintu was shot at by his rivals. He was rushed to the Ara Sadar Hospital from where he was referred to the Patna Medical College and Hospital as his condition was serious. But, the hapless youth succumbed to his injuries on way to PMCH.

As soon as Pintu's supporters learnt of the death, they once again went to the house of Amresh and pelted stones. They also resorted to brickbatting the cops, injuring driver Shyam. The situation was brought under control after Bhojpur SP Satya Veer Singh and ASP Vikas Kumar, along with Sadar SDO Madhav Kumar Singh, reached there with a posse of police force.

Amresh was arrested and a gun seized from his possession. Three separate FIRs were lodged - for the murder of Pintu, attacks on the police and the  house of Amresh. Amresh was forwarded to jail on Monday.
