Bihar: Rs. 10 cr extortion demanded from BJP MP

A hardcore criminal lodged at Araria jail has demanded Rs. 10 crore from the BJP MP from Araria, Pradeep Kumar Singh, threatening ti kill him if he failed to pay.


The MP told UNI over telephone that the call was made on his mobile phone on Friday and the caller threatened to kill him in case he failed to pay the extortion.

He said an FIR had been lodged at the Kotwali police station in this connection.

In the FIR, it had been alleged that , Dinesh Rathore, lodged at Araria jail, had made the threatening call.

Meanwhile, police began to investigate into the matter and the Rathore may be taken into police custody for interrogation.

Police were also studying the call details of the mobile used to make the threatening call to the MP.
