Pharma trader abducted in Bhagalpur

A pharmaceutical dealer was abducted from Sultanganj market under Sultanganj police station area on Saturday night.


According to police, Chetan Rajhans, 28, was abducted when he was returning home after winding up his day’s work.

He was suddenly intercepted by some criminals at Sultanganj market, who took him away at gunpoint.

Police said the relatives of the kidnapped trader received a phone call from an unfamiliar number on Sunday and the caller demanded Rs. 5 lakh in ransom to free Chetan.

An FIR has been lodged and the matter is being investigated. Raids are also being conducted to arrest the kidnappers and rescue the victim.
