Vaishali superintendent of police (SP), Upendra Kumar Singh said, a new comprehensive counter strategy is now ready to tackle the rebel menace and the
emphasis now is on real time intelligence gathering.

Maoists had killed Umesh Singh and his son Kunal Bharti and an FIR has been filed against 30 Maoists, who made up the squad that attacked Suki and carried out the murders.

Police say, while there has been no criminal record against either of the two victims, it was believed to a selective killing by the Maoists mainly to create fear in the area, which in turn would help them in levy gathering and adherents.

Police also believe, that a couple of villages bordering Muzaffarpur-East Champaran and Vaishali were believed to harbor the Maoists, who used their
proximity to the three districts to carry out selective attacks and scoot off to neighbouring districts.

The SP said, security had also been tightened in the entire area and security forces with latest weaponry had been deployed in strength. A police outpost has been developed at Suki, which will stay there. This was the second Maoists attack in Suki village in recent times.

In the first attack on the house of Bigul Singh (recently killed in Muzaffarpur) a couple of years ago, four persons were killed. Meanwhile, democratic front, a left wing mass platform has issued a call for North Bihar bundh on Monday in protest against the growing atrocities on the people of weaker sections by police and feudal forces.

Sinha said, elaborate police arrangements would be made on Monday at each vulnerable place to preempt violence.
