Police seized four pistols, 17 cartridges, a pistol magazine, four cell phones, three motorcycles, a car and Rs. 7,000 from their possession.

Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Amrit Raj said police first arrested Raju Jha. “On the basis of his statement, we raided Muzaffarpur,

Begusarai and arrested all the other criminals involved in the murder of Sourav. Guddu had hatched conspiracy to kill Sourav to revenge the murder of his brother Rishideo Muni who was killed on September 29, last year,” he added.

He said police identified the arrested youths as Raju Jha and Roshan Kumar of Begusarai, Rishu Muni Rai alias Guddu, Omprakash Rai and Gopi alias Mritunjay Rai of Muzzafarpur. “Guddu had given contract of Rs. 1.25 lakh to Omprakash to kill Sourav. After executing the murder, Guddu paid Rs. 90,000 to Omprakash through two separate cheques,” he added.

The SSP said Omprakash had planned to grab the flat of Sourav after killing him.
