The Haryana town and country planning department has issued show cause notices in 81 cases against 52 colonizers engaged in illegal extraction of ground water for construction purposes in Gurgaon.
An official spokesman of the department said that the colonisers had been directed that ground water should not be used for construction purpose. The Central Ground Water Board (CGWB), North-Western Region and deputy commissioner, Gurgaon had also been already asked to take further necessary action for sealing unauthorised tubewells and borewells.
He said that colonisers had been asked to explain the reasons for withdrawing the ground water for construction purposes against the approval of CGWB or State Environment Impact Assessment Authority or Haryana State Pollution Control Board and also in violation of the orders of Punjab and Haryana high court dated July 31, 2012 within 15 days.
A maximum of six notices had been issued to Raheja Developers Pvt ltd., followed by five to DLF New Gurgaon Homes Developers and four each to Tulip Infratech and Vatika ltd. Similarly three notices had been issued to each of the Emaar MGF Land ltd, Chintels India ltd and Bestech India ltd.
He said that those who had been issued show cause notices included A N Buildwell, ABW Buildwell, Aggarwal Developers, ALM Infotech, Ansal Properties and Infrastructure, Bestech India, Chintels India, Countrywide Promoters, Deputy Gothwal Construction, Dharmpal, Era Infrastructure (India), Headway Builcon, Ish Kripa Properties, J M D ltd, JSG Builders, Jubilant Malls and Jubilant Software Services.
Others who had been issued show cause notices included K S S Properties, Land Mark Apartment, Magnum International Trading Co, Mapsco Builders, Mahindra Gesco Developer, National Buildings Construction Corp, Ninex Developers, North Star Apartments, Orris Infrastructure, Oxyzen Realtors, Pal Infrastructure and Developer, Pashupati Buildwell, Pioneer Urban Land and Infrastructure, Prajakta Colonizers, Puri Construction, Raheja Developers, Ramprastha Green, Reliable Realtech, S A Infracon, S U Estates, S A Infratech, Satya Developers, Selene Construction, Sham Communications Systems, Shivnandan Buildtech, Spaze Towers, Splendor Land Base, SRP Builders, Tata Services ltd, Tirupati Build Plaza, Tulip Infratech, Uppal Housing and Vatika ltd, he said.
