The explosion took place when a labourer of a garbage contractor was handling waste at the garbage dump, district police chief Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh said.

The injured were admitted to a government hospital. Those seriously injured were identified as Paramjit Singh and Baldev Singh.

Senior police officials ruled out any terrorist hand in the blast.
