Minor Dalit girl raped in Haryana, two booked

Haryana Police has booked uncle-nephew duo in Birabadi village for kidnapping and raping a minor Dalit girl at gun point on Saturday, when she was on her way back from the field after giving food to her grandfather.


The victim, a 16-year-old, fell prey to Sukhwinder Singh (28) and Bhuta Singh (24), who works as watchman in the fields of a landlord in Birabadi village.

Police said: "According to the complaint given by victim's mother, it was around 7pm on Friday evening, when her daughter was kidnapped and raped by Sukhwinder Singh and Bhuta Singh. Bhuta Singh committed the crime, while the former stood gurad with a gun."

Victim was later dumped outside her residence after threatening her not to disclose the incident. On Saturday morning, victim's mother reached Ratia police station and lodged a complaint against the accused.

Rajesh Kumar, the station house officer, Ratia said: "The accused have been booked under 376(rape), 365(kidnapping), 120 B and Arms Act and POSCO Act and under SC and ST act".

He said that the DSP is probing the matter and efforts are being made to arrest the accused, who are on the run.
