A suspected ISI agent was arrested from the Indo-Bangladesh border near here, police said today.

The 21-year-old youth who identified himself as Naeem Ahmed Mamun, was moving under suspicious circumstances near Lankamura border outpost when BSF jawans apprehended him and handed him over to the police yesterday.

Claiming to be a citizen of Bangladesh, he said that he went to Anantanag district of Kashmir four years ago in search of a job.

Police also recovered a fake passport and some Pakistani currencies from his possession.

Earlier, an ISI agent Manir Kan alias Omar Ashraf was arrested from here on July 3 along with his six Indian associates.

DIG (police control) Nepal Das said Khan had spread a network of ISI activities in Assam and other parts of the region.
