Jeweller robbed of valuables worth R30 lakh at gunpoint

Four bike-borne armed men robbed a jeweller inside his showroom at sector-2 of Vaishali and fled away with cash and gold worth R30 lakh. The incident occurred at  9pm when the four men — one of them was wearing a mask —entered Raman Rai’s shop in Vaishali and took the owner and his
employees on gun point.

“They were young in age and immediately placed a knife over my throat. One of them had a big knife while the other three were armed with pistols,” Rai said. The robbers arrived on two bikes which they parked outside the showroom.

According to the victim, the robbers fled away with gold , diamond and silver jewellery worth R30 lakh.

“During initial investigations, we have found out that some local young men were involved in the crime. They will be nabbed soon as we have received some inputs in the case,” senior superintendent of police (SSP) Raghubir Lal said.
