The decomposed body of a teenage girl was found buried inside her house in Hapur on Monday, the police said.
According to the police, the victim’s 23-year-old brother had allegedly committed suicide on a railway track on Saturday. The police said a suicide note was recovered from his possession during the post-mortem.
“In the note, the man had written that he had killed and buried his sister inside their house and was ending his life out of guilt. When we went to his house for investigation, nothing was found. But when his family complained of some foul smell emanating from the house on Monday afternoon, we found the girl’s body,” said Sudhir Kumar, assistant superintendent of police (ASP), Hapur.
“The family identified the body as that of their daughter. The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination,” said Kumar. According to the initial probe, Arvind Kumar allegedly murdered his sister as he suspected her of having friendly relations with a man. But the police are yet to ascertain the exact cause that led to the girl’s murder.
“The incident took place on Saturday night when the brother and sister were alone at home. Their parents had gone to a relative’s place. After killing the girl, he ended his life on a railway track,” the ASP said.
