Religare Finevest Limited on Saturday sacked its vice-president G Krishnan, 38, who was arrested recently for allegedly molesting a colleague.

The company, in a statement issued on Saturday, said that it had terminated Krishnan’s services and was conducting an internal inquiry into the matter. It said that the company would cooperate with the Noida police in the investigation process.

“We have terminated the services of vice-president G Krishnan. The action has been taken after an employee filed an FIR with the Noida police, charging Krishnan with sexual harassment,” the statement said.

It further stated, “Though the complainant did not escalate the matter internally, we took note as soon as it came to our notice. At present, we are conducting an internal inquiry. The result of the probe will be provided to the police/ investigating authorities.”

Krishnan was arrested after a woman colleague filed a police complaint, alleging that he used to call her to his cabin and molest her. Krishnan was arrested on Thursday from his residence in Sector 28.
