To counter the menace of fake currency notes, the government will soon start using indigenous paper and ink, Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee said on Saturday. "So far, we have been using foreign paper and ink. But now, we will start making our own paper and ink to control fake
currency notes," Mukherjee said.

On PDS system, he alleged the state's Left Front government has handled the distribution of essential commodities in an improper way.

Asked about Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee's statement against the Centre on rising corruption cases in the country, the veteran Congress leader said everyone says such things ahead of elections.

"The Left Front government have not been able to handle things in their state. But we have always been against corruption and are still fighting against it," Mukherjee said.
