A 29-year-old call centre employee jumped to his death from his office building on Valentine’s Day, leaving behind a note telling his girlfriend he could not live without her, the police said on Thursday.

Shuboor Rahman Rizwi’s colleagues saw him climb out of a window and venture into an open area on the fourth floor of their office in south Bangalore around 11am.

Rizwi, who hailed from Bhopal, was talking to someone on his cellphone. Seconds later, he jumped off before his colleagues could react.

He was rushed to hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
