A girl allegedly committed suicide at her rented house in Bhopal on late Saturday night. Police said the deceased (18), a first year engineering student, ended her life by hanging self.
A handwritte note was recovered from the house in which she expressed her adulation for cricket player Virat Kohli. It was not clear what prompted her to end life though family members suggested that she was suffering from stomach ache.
In the suicide note, she mentioned that Kohli is a fine cricketer who would create many records in future.
She also expressed her wish that if her family members ever met Kohli they should tell him that she was her fan.
Additional superintendent of police (ASP) Dharmvir Singh said that the deceased's father has said that his daughter was upset due to health related issues.
"She was a fan of Virat Kohli and has mentioned this in the handwritte note", said the officer.
The girl, who hailed from Bina, was studying in first year at a private engineering college in Bhopal.
The police have registered a case and have begun investigating the case.
