Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan would launch the Atal Jyoti Abhiyan in Jabalpur district on Sunday in a function at the Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwavidylaya in Jabalpur.
Under the scheme, the government would provide 24 hours power supply for domestic use in rural areas, while for agriculture connection holders the government would provide minimum power supply for eight hours. The government has planned to cover all the districts by June under the campaign.
The state is carrying the feeder segregation work in rural areas erecting separate power lines for supply to domestic and agriculture usage. A total of 17,529 villages would get round the clock power supply on the separation of 1,891 feeders in areas falling under the MP East Zone Power Distribution Company Jabalpur. The segregation of 1,729 feeders in areas coming under the MP Central Zone Power Distribution Company Bhopal would benefit 15,743 villages.
