The Government Railway Police (GRP), Vidisha registered a case against 16 persons based on a complaint by a railway employee in connection with the arson at Gulabganj railway station, on Wednesday .
Twelve of the accused — all from Gulabganj village — have been arrested and were sent to jail after being produced in a local court. However, four of the accused are absconding.
An irate mob set fire to the railway station on Tuesday after two children were run over and killed by an express train.
A railway employee Bhagwan Das was killed in the incident while the assistant station master Sanket Bansal and another person sustained severe burns.
