Chhattisgarh to establish sports university

To establish academic environment and facilitate exposure on sports and various courses related to it, the BJP-ruled Chhattisgarh government on Tuesday declared to set up a sports university in the state soon.

Speaking during a three-day state level convention of Bhartiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) held at new capital city Naya Raipur, the chief minister Raman Singh said the university will offer courses on sports economy, sports medicine, sports psychology, sports management and sports journalism. The university will further support coaching and training of various sports and undertake physical education programme.

The university will encourage, promote and nurture the sports talent among the students and the youths, Singh stated. 

"Chhattisgarh government will also introduce a bill in the Assembly to foster skill up-gradation to enable the unemployed youths secure legal rights and seek such training programmes that enhances their competence and adeptness", said the chief minister.
