The baton, carried by archer Dola Banerjee and joint secretary of Bengal Olympic Association Dilip Paul landed at Bagdogra airport last evening, 90 minutes behind schedule due to bad weather.

The baton would reach Darjeeling on July 18 and reach Siliguri the next day. Table tennis star Mantu Ghose would receive the baton at Sukna on July 19.

A mega cultural show would be held to welcome the symbol of the Commonwealth Games at Siliguri, deputy Mayor of the Siliguri Municipal Corporation Nantu Paul said.
