Alok Mittal is new Gurgaon police chief

In a major reshuffle in senior police ranks on Monday, the Haryana government transferred Gurgaon police commissioner KK Sindhu. He has been replaced by Alok Mittal, who was serving as IGP (Rohtak Range).


Interestingly, Mittal was posted as joint commissioner of police in Gurgaon between June 2009 and October 2011. The 1993-batch IPS officer is likely to take charge as the new Gurgaon police commissioner from Wednesday.

Sindhu, a 1986-batch officer, was promoted as ADGP (Vigilance) and will remain posted in Gurgaon.

Haryana government on Monday issued transfer and posting orders of 35 IPS officers and five Haryana Police Service (HPS) officers with immediate effect. SS Kapur, the police commissioner of Faridabad, and Arshinder Singh Chawla, IGP (Hisar Range) have exchanged posts.

Former Gurgaon police commissioner Mohinder Lal, ADGP (Modernisation) is the new Director (Vigilance and security) while Dr BK Sinha wil take charge as ADGP (Home Guards). KK Sharma is the new ADGP (Law and Order).

Navdeep Singh Virk has been promoted as IGP (IRB Bhondsi), Shrikant Jadhav goes as IGP (Crime) while Anil Kumar is the new IGP (Rohtak Range).

Dr Suman Manjri has been posted as IGP crime against women, PHQ, Panchkula. Satparkash Ranga will take over as IGP (CID) and Paramjit Singh Ahlawat has been posted as IGP (Railways and Commando).
