Minor boy smothered to death

The body of a two-and-a-half year old boy, who was reported missing, was found near the bushes on Pataudi Road in Sector 10, Gurgaon, on Thursday.

According to the police, victim Sumit Kumar was playing outside his house in Saraswati Enclave, Sector 10, from where he went missing.

When his mother called him, he was nowhere to be found. After searching nearby areas, Kumar’s family members informed the police around 5pm.

Around 7pm, the boy was found dead in Kadipur village on Pataudi road after a passerby informed the police.

The deceased’s left arm and leg were fractured and he was smothered to death, police said. The body was handed over to the family after the post-mortem.

The victim’s father, Sarversh Kumar, works as a driver in the city and the family hails from Etah in Uttar Pradesh.
