Woman's body found in stolen car, cops clueless

The body of an unidentified married woman,  said to be in her late twenties, was found in an abandoned Hyundai Santro in the Rajendra Park area, near Huda Sector 4, on Monday morning.

The victim sustained bullet injuries on the left side of the neck and the forehead.

The police recovered two used cartridges - one below the car and another inside the vehicle.  The deceased was wearing a night suit and her ornaments were found intact, the police said.

The car (HR-26AZ 6923) was noticed by a truck driver in a vacant plot. On a closer look, he saw the deceased lying in a pool of blood. The police was immediately informed.

Forensic experts said a 9mm pistol had been used to commit the crime and the woman had been shot on Sunday night.

Upon investigation, the police found that the vehicle had been car-jacked on December 24 from the Sohna road. The vehicle's registration number was fake.

The car's service book was found inside the vehicle and it confirmed the vehicle's original number (HR 26 AU 2494). The police found that the car belonged to one Brijlal Yadav, resident of Jharsa village.The registration number (HR-26AZ 6923) belongs to a resident of Sohna Road.

The police said the postmortem examination would be conducted after the woman is identified.

Meanwhile, on Sunday evening, unidentified bike-borne assailants shot a trader outside the Tau Devi Lal stadium near Rajiv Chowk.In another incident, a security guard opened fire at a worker on Sunday, injuring him critically.

Missing boy's body found
A decomposed body of 8-year-old boy was found floating in a pond of Sirhaul village, near Sector 18 on Monday.

According to the police, the child had gone missing under mysterious circumstances on January 8. Victim Dashrath Singh lived with his family in a rented house in Sirhaul. The deceased's father, a native of Kirathpur in Uttar Pradesh, works as a labourer in Udyog Vihar for the last few years.
