Ahmed hit me on the head with the chisel,” Munda cried, as he displayed injuries on his face and hands.
“We took him to the deputy superintendent, who told us to take Munda to the emergency ward. He also called the police. Ahmed would have killed him if we weren’t present,” a kitchen staff, Ranjit Mullick, said. “This isn’t the first time that Ahmed has run riot. Even on Saturday, he beat up a man on the hospital premises,” Mullick said.
Faizal’s father, Jamil Ahmed, said his son had lost his cool because the quality of food served in the hospital was consistently of a poor quality.
“We can’t be blamed for the food. We only serve it. If there is a complaint about the quality of food, the authorities should be told,” Munda said.
However, CMC deputy superintendent Muktipada Maity dismissed the incident as a trifling issue.
