Akhilesh mulls devp fund with Noida, Gzb profits

Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday announced the setting up of a development fund for upgrading infrastructure across the state. The fund would be set up from profits of development authorities such as Noida, Greater Noida and GDA. Yadav also said his government would take initiatives to protect the interests of farmers.

Yadav was addressing gathering at a special function organized at his 5-Kalidas Marg residence here to inaugurate and lay the foundation stones of Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority projects worth Rs 3, 337 crore.“We will take out a part of the profits of the Noida, the Greater Noida, the Ghaziabad Development Authority, the Lucknow Development Authority and other such agencies to set up the proposed fund. This fund will be used to develop infrastructure in other areas,” the chief minister said.Yadav said Uttar Pradesh could not be developed without the development of rural areas along with the cities.

At this point when terms like inclusive growth had come into focus, the policies would have to target and benefit the farmers, he claimed. “The state government has withdrawn cases registered against the farmers at Bhatta Parsaul and other places.

We will ensure justice to farmers and their participation in the state’s development,” he said.He also said his government had got in touch with Amul for dairy development to benefit the state’s farmers. “We will open a number of Amul centers across the state for the benefit of farmers. Another scheme for interest free loan for the dairy development had also been launched,” he said.Yadav also took time out to hold talks with the chief medical superintendent of a Greater Noida hospital through video conferencing after inaugurating the OPD services of the health hub online. “Ensure treatment to all the patients who come to your hospital,”he said.
