In a daring incident, two teenage brothers thrashed a constable inside the South City police outpost on Tuesday evening. The cop was, however, rescued by his colleagues.

This is the fourth such incident during the past one week.

The two boys were identified as Sachin, 19 and Vipin, 18, residents of Uthretia village. Their father, Daya Ram, is a personal assistant to a senior railway official.

According to reports, outpost in-charge Vinod Dwivedi had arrested Sachin for creating nuisance at a local beer shop in an inebriated state.

Consequently, his younger brother Vipin turned up at the outpost. Dwivedi had left the place by that time, leaving Sachin in custody of constable Raju Nigam. The boy barged into the place and attacked the constable after a verbal duel with him. The cop was rescued by two other constables.

Mohanlalganj CO JP Dwivedi said the two brothers were later overpowered and arrested. An FIR was registered in the matter.
