After tehsil and thana diwas, the state government on Tuesday decided to hold monthly “janata adalat” (people’s court) to settle dispute with the UP Awas Vikas Parishad and development authorities.
The first such adalat will be held next month. Principal secretary (housing and urban planning) Sadakant said stern action would be taken against the officers if they showed slackness in disposing of complaints. He said the decision had been taken in view of the problems being faced by people in disposal of their complaints with these organisations.
As per the plan, at these adalat the complaints would be registered and possible date of its disposal would be intimated to the complainant. He said vice-chairmen of development authorities would ensure required action on the applications before the deadline given to complainant.
He also said the udyog bandhu would also be intimated about the progress of janata adalat. Sadakant added that development authority would ensure that people were not harassed while finding solutions to their problems.
