Prof Dev said human beings have become greedy and hence they do not care a bit about their environment.

He stressed on the need to launch a campaign for catering to the increasing greed among humans leading to degradation of environment.

“After the green revolution, we need to start some campaign if we want to save our environment. Since the degradation has no short term symptoms, we have no idea where it would lead us,” he added.

Earlier, i n his keynote address academician Prof AK Sharma said conserving environment was not possible without controlling population.“If you do not control the population explosion, you will not be able to even think of saving the environment,”he added.
