Hundreds of residents jammed the road for about three hours, raising slogans against the state government for their failure to provide basic civic amenities like power and water for the past 48 hours. The residents said due to prolonged power cuts, the water supply in the area had been affected for the past forty-eight hours.

The Jal Sansthan officials said that the over head water tank was not filled due to power cuts and low voltage supply. The power cut in the area was caused due to breakdown in the 33 KV line.

GM Jal Sansthan Rajeev Bajpai said that the Jal Sansthan had rushed two tankers to the affected area and would ensure proper water supply on Friday too. However, the jam was cleared only after the power supply resumed and water supply started in the evening.
