Commuters travelling late at night on the western line in the next few days may have to face a little inconvenience as the Western Railway will start special night blocks to complete work on the Naigaon subway.
The blocks will be between the Vasai Road and Bhayander stations post-midnight on Thursday and Friday and continue till early the subsequent mornings.
This will lead to a certain amount of delay and trains may be cancelled between 23.55pm and 6.25am.
During the block period, mail, express, passenger and suburban trains could be delayed by 10-15 minutes.
Two slow trains starting after 10pm from Borivli station and Vasai Road will be cancelled. Another 15-car train starting from Virar at 05:30am will also be cancelled post-midnight on Thursday.
Similarly, four other suburban trains starting from Vasai Road, Borivli and Virar stations will not run on Friday after midnight.
As the block will be observed till 6:30am, morning services on the western line will also be affected.
“A few trains may be cancelled and some may run late by 10-15 minutes during the morning hours. Commuters must ensure that they plan their schedule accordingly,” said Sharat Chandrayan, spokesperson, WR.
However, no mail/express trains will be cancelled during the block period.
