Titled ‘About Violence and Women: The Way Forward’, the public discussion will be held at the Chemould Prescott Road art gallery in Fort on Thursday.

The panel will comprise 13 prominent speakers from various fields, including lawyer Flavia Agnes, actors Nandita Das and Rahul Bose, artist Nalini Malani and musician Mala Ramadorai.

“Speakers will discuss how we can address the deep, systemic issue of violence against women, addressing it through the lens of their field of work,” said Bunty Chand, ASIC executive director

The discussion, she said, will focus on creating a forward-looking and action-oriented agenda for tackling the the problem.

“We are living too much under the aegis of patriarchy and women still don’t have much agency.  Through the language of art, we can take a progressive step to address these issues,” said  panelist Nalini Malani.
