Former MLA Pappu Kalani’s son Omesh alias Omi Kalani along with four of his accomplices Moni Karotia, Nana Kharat, Hira Kukreja and Gurmeet Singh were released from jail by the Ulhasnagar court after four months.

This release came after police filed a charge sheet in court. This is conditional bail, which means Omi Kalani has to be present, whenever the police summon him in connection with the police case.  He would also have to be present at the nearest police station.

Kalani had been charged with attempt to murder, threatening at gunpoint, abusing and beating up a man. He was in the Vashi jail for the past four months

Kalani and his accomplices had attacked Sunil alias Guddu Sukharamani twice and had to be hospitalised for 15 days.

Sukhramani is the nephew of Mahesh Sukhramani, ex-corporator of the Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation. Mahesh had contested an election against Jyoti Kalani, who is Kalani’s mother.
