The Juhu police have formed a special team to trace the three accused, including a security guard, who allegedly gagged and robbed a 46-year-old beautician of cash and valuables worth Rs. 4.93 lakh at her residence on Wednesday. No arrests have been made so far.

The police have been tracking the cell phone location of the main accused, security guard Lalbahadur Sood.  He had been working at the victim, Sonal Shah’s building, Cool Breeze on Vidyanidhi Road, Vile Parle (West) for the past six months.

Since Sood was registered with the Juhu police, the police have his identity and contact details. “Sood’s cell phone is being traced; but, he is constantly changing locations,” said an official.

Police suspected Sood took a few days to plan the robbery and worked with two accomplices. “He was aware that Sonal’s husband and daughter leave for work before 9.30 am,” the police said.

The police believe that robbery was the only motive behind the crime as the victim was not harmed. They are now looking for CCTV footage of the building and surrounding areas and are speaking to the building management.
