Arvind Kejriwal has been officially confirmed as a keynote speaker at the troubled Wharton India Economic Forum, 10 days after organisers cancelled Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi’s address following opposition from faulty members.

Kejirwal’s name has been added to the website, which says the Aam Admi Party founder will speak live via videoconference. British Airways has also been added on the site as a sponsor.

Earlier this week, Mohandas Pai, chairman, Manipal Group, had been added to the list of keynote speakers. Last week, three sponsors pulled out of the Forum, as did three speakers.

The annual student-run conference at the Ivy League University of Pennsylvania’s business school is scheduled to be held on March 23.

The conference has been facing one problem after another when, following opposition to Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi, Gautam Adani pulled out as a speaker, along with the Adani group as sponsors.

Shiv Sena leader Suresh Prabhu also cancelled his attendance. Two other sponsors – the Hexaware group and Colors Viacom 18 – also pulled out.
