In her complaint, the woman said she was drugged and abducted by four people in a car, one of whom she knew. The four then took her to a park and raped her.

She also alleged that they dumped her near a garbage station in New Jafarabad area.

She alleged that she had known one of the four men for the past few months. He had asked her to meet him in Welcome area on Tuesday night on the pretext of giving her a job.

There, he allegedly offered her a cold drink laced with sedatives, after which she getting drowsy.

“The main accused, identified as one Yashdev, took her into a white car with tinted glass. Three men, of which two were Vidhur Malik and Devendra, forced themselves on her.

"They took her to another park and took turns to rape her,” a police officer said, quoting the victim’s complaint.

Around 2am on Wednesday, the assailants threw her out of their car near a garbage station in New Jafarabad area and fled, said the officer.

A woman spotted the victim from the balcony of her house and called the police. A police team arrived and rushed her to the GTB Hospital.

Based on the victim’s complaint, Yashdev was arrested. However, the police registered a case of rape, and not gang rape, as they said the victim was constantly changing her statements.

An NGO has been roped in for counselling the victim, to whom the woman gave a different statement.

Efforts are on to nab the absconding accused, added the officer.
