In a rescue operation conducted in northwest Delhi on Tuesday, 26 child labourers were rescued from various eating joints and manufacturing units operating in Narela.

Acting on a complaint filed by NGO Bachpan Bachao Andolan (BBA), the district task force of the labour department swung into action and rescued 26 minor boys between the age group of 10 and 12 years.

Of the total rescued, 21 were working in Narela the Industrial area, while five others were rescued from small eating joints.

Officials said, the children had turned pale, working from 8am till late in the night in small, gloomy, suffocating rooms. The establishment from where these children were rescued were also sealed till the operation was on.  HTC
