With the International Women's Day around the corner, Delhi celebrates women in different ways.

The 9th International Association of Radio and Television Asian Women's Film Festival - an annual event which includes a film festival, seminar on community radio, exhibitions and installations representing faces of Asian women's self expression - will be held from March 5-8 2013. The focus is on Iran and South Korea this year including student films from India. The event will be held at three venues: India International Centre, Korean Cultural Centre and Sri Aurobindo Centre for Arts and Communication. To know more call 9811585593.

India Habitat Centre has a fortnight of programmes chalked out this month celebrating women which includes a play titled Unladylike: The Pitfalls of Propriety that lampoons age-old double standards and gender inequalities on March 2, followed by a stand-up comedy by an all-female lineup on March 6, a homage to women Urdu poets by author Pran Nevile followed by a concert on March 7, films on women's empowerment on March 12 and a series on personal experiences of women on the spiritual path on March 13. The Instituto Cervantes De Nueva Delhi is hosting 'women space' - a month-long programme of women-centric Spanish films that include themes of love, loss, family, hope and others. Call 43681900 for details.

On the lighter side of things, TLR in Hauz Khas is hosting a party especially for women in the city on March 8. A women's only event, male guests are allowed if they dress up in women's attire. There will be performances by independent Indian female musicians from Kolkata and Mumbai.
