Next time you book a hotel room in Delhi, don’t forget to say ‘cheese’. To increase the level of security in the city’s hotels, lieutenant governor Tejendra Khanna has asked the Delhi Police to implement a plan that would make it mandatory for hotel authorities to click a photo of each guest and paste it in their logbook.

While the police have initiated discussions on the plan, hotel authorities are irked because of the expenditure involved in buying the equipment.

The move comes after the recovery of firearms from an Old Delhi hotel following the arrest of a terror suspect. In 2009, Lashkar-e-Taiba militant David Coleman Headley had stayed in a Paharganj hotel.

Police said the rule will apply to both budget as well as five-star hotels.
