'India hot destination for investors’

India is the latest destination for investors and things are likely to improve further in the next few days, chairman of ICIER, Isher Judge Ahluwalia said at the biennial convention of Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce in New Delhi on Saturday.

She was speaking on the topic “India as a global investment destination, how attractive?” and felt that there was a lot in India to keep investors happy. The noted economist also projected that the country would witness a higher growth rate in the coming years and that should be good news for investors.

Professor Ajit Singh, Professor Emeritus, Economics, Cambridge University, also spoke on the occasion. The inaugural session was concluded by a keynote speech by Dr Nagesh Kumar, Director, Macro-Economic Policy and Development Division (MPDD), United Nations-ESCAP. 

Senior officials of the finance ministry and industry experts also participated in the day-long event.
