Managing disasters at SR DAV, Dayanand Vihar

Shaheed Rajpal D.A.V. Public School, Dayanand Vihar, was selected as the venue for the mock drill conducted by Delhi Fire Services at the national level. It was organised in association with National Disaster Management Authority (East), Delhi Police, and Delhi Fire Services.

The drill focused on safe evacuation in case of fire. Student, teachers and members of the school were apprised of the steps which should be taken in case of emergency. Volunteers from civil defence department helped in evacuating the school building.

The team from the Delhi Fire Services demonstrated various techniques and  equipment to extinguish fire. Principal, Renu Laroiya stated coordinated efforts can always prevent any exigency from turning into tragedy.

As part of its ongoing Indo China student-teacher exchange programme, Tagore International School, Vasant Vihar, invited a delegation from Jinyuan Senior High School, China.

The nine member delegation was welcomed by  school Principal Madhulika Sen in a special assembly. They were taken around the school and also attended classes during the regular school days.

Students spoke about Sino-Indian relations and also about the camaraderie and friendship that has been built between both the schools  in the past five years.

Bosco Public School , Paschim, Vihar, celebrated its Annual day ‘Abhikarsh — Arise, Awake, Achieve’ recently. The event began with the orchestra performance by the students . School’s Manager, Rajiv Duggal welcomed the guests Prof JM Khurana — Dean,  and Dr GS Tuteja, Deputy Dean, Students’ Welfare Association, Delhi University.

The differently abled children of Umang Learning Centre presented a skit, ‘Disha’ followed by a ballet on the life of Swami Vivekananda. Principal, Rupam Sah, presented the annual report.

Pathways School, Gurgaon, celebrated  its Founder’s Day  recently. The Chief Guest on the occasion was  Padma Bhushan Dr RK Pachauri, Director General of The Energy and Resources Institute ( TERI ), Chairman of the Intergovernmental  Panel on Climate Change and Nobel laureate.

The school staged 'Wingless,' a play, written by Paro Anand, one of the contemporary children's writers of India.
