In a shocking incident, a five-year-old LKG student was sodomised, allegedly by his school teacher, in east Delhi’s Govindpura near Jagatpuri on Tuesday. According to the police, the victim, who sustained injuries in his private part, was even threatened by the accused teacher.

While the victim is undergoing treatment at Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital, the accused school teacher was arrested after a case was registered at the Jagatpuri police station. The accused has been identified as Pramod, 32.

Police said the victim was so traumatised after the incident that he was not able to explain the matter to the police. Apart from treatment, the boy is also being counselled. The condition of the victim was stable but serious, said a police officer.

According to the police officer, the matter came to light after the family members and relatives of the victim gathered at the school and held a protest.

“The family members of the boy explained the matter to the police and told them that the boy had identified the teacher. The school teacher was immediately taken into custody and was booked under appropriate sections of IPC and section 12 of POSCO Act, 2012. He was arrested after the boy’s medical examination confirmed sodomy,” said the officer.

The boy’s parents told the police that they found blood spots on his uniform when he returned home after school on Tuesday. The victim was very scared and was not able to tell what exactly had happened to him.

“When asked repeatedly, the boy told his parents that he was sodomised by his school teacher, Pramod. He told them that Pramod lured him into the bathroom and sodomised him after threatening to kill him and his family members,” the senior officer said. After learning about the incident, the families of other students also protested against the school.
