Pakistan parliament’s resolution condemning the hanging of Afzal Guru and its demand to hand over the body to his family drew angry reactions from different political parties in India.
The Congress and CPM termed it as interference in India’s internal affairs and the BJP said Pakistan stood exposed as a terrorist state.
Congress spokesperson Rashid Alvi said: “This is nothing but interference in our domestic affairs. Guru was hanged in accordance with the Indian law.”
Senior CPM leader Sitaram Yechury said: “It is most unfortunate. No sovereign country has a right to interfere or draw conclusions on a decision taken by another sovereign nation”.
BJP spokesperson Rajiv Pratap Rudy asked Pakistan to mind its own business.
“The world now needs no confirmation that Pakistan is a terrorist state and its parliament pleads for terrorists. Pakistan is a failed state that had harboured Osama,” he said.
