A late-evening shower on Sunday was accompanied by a warning from the Met department: Don't put away your warm clothes as yet, because the coming week is likely to be a chilly.

While Sunday was pleasant with overcast skies and light rain, the Met department has said that the winter chill is likely to return in the coming days.

"There will be a cloud cover through the day on Monday. It is likely to rain as well in some parts of the city, which will bring back the winter chill in the next few days," said a Met department official.

The past couple of days in the Capital have been warm with maximum temperatures settling above the average.

While the minimum temperature on Sunday was a degree above normal at 9.5 degrees Celsius, the maximum temperature was recorded five degrees above normal at 26.3 degrees Celsius.

However, even with rain and thundershowers expected on Monday, the minimum temperature is likely to go up further to stand at 12 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature will stand at 22 degrees.
