Two killed in accident

Two persons were killed and another critically injured when their two-wheeler was hit by a speeding car in west Delhi's Punjabi Bagh early on Sunday.

The victims of the incident, which took place around 1am, were originally from Bengal and worked for a tannery in Karol Bagh. The dead were identified as Chanchal Patnaik and Pappu Patra. Their friend, Bansi, sustained critical injuries in the accident and is being treated at the Safdarjung hospital, police said.

Delhi: HIV patient gets 7 years' jail for robbery

A Delhi court has sentenced an HIV-positive man and his wife to seven years in jail for robbery and house trespassing. The court said there were no grounds for leniency on account of health since such crimes were on the rise and needed to be curbed.
