The government railway police (GRP) at Katihar station in northeast Bihar have arrested two army jawans who allegedly tried to molest a woman travelling on the Dibrugarh-New Delhi Rajdhani Express.

Sources in the GRP said the jawans targeted the woman when she objected to their drinking and smoking on the train. Gajendra Singh and Yaad Ram of Rajputana Rifles were arrested on the woman’s complaint when the train reached Katihar railway station late Tuesday.

“The accused jawans have been sent to jail after medical examination and senior army officials had been informed about the incident,” superintendent of railway police Sukan Paswan said on Thursday. HTC
