Jharkhand assembly summoned for trust vote on July 18

The Jharkhand cabinet on Saturday decided to convene an assembly session on July 18 to seek a trust vote, chief minister Hemant Soren said.

"We have requested the governor to convene an assembly session on July 18," Soren told reporters following the first cabinet meeting of the newly sworn-in government in state capital Ranchi.

Soren of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha party on Saturday took oath as the ninth chief minister along with two ministers  - Rajendra Prasad Singh of the Congress and Annapurna Devi of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).

JMM reluctant on congress’ grand alliance proposal

The talks on seat sharing between the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and congress remained inconclusive on Tuesday. The two parties agreed on contesting the forthcoming assembly polls in alliance, however. The assembly election is likely in the month of November or December.
