Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Wednesday assured the hailstorm affected farmers of Tikamgarh and Chhatarpur that the government would provide every possible assistance to them.
The CM landed by chopper at Dooda village of Tikamgarh and went to nearby Samara village, where he
handed a cheque of
Rs.
1.5 lakh to son of farmer Dharamdas Lodhi who died at his agricultural field when a tree fell due to storm. The CM also inspected the damage to crops due to hailstorm. Later addressing the villagers, he announced that government would recover no revenue from affected farmers. Survey will be done and compensation distributed, he said.
The CM later reached Chhatarpur and went to Barethi village and look a stock of damage to crops. Here also the CM announced that the state government would make no recovery and would compensate farmers. He said for next Kharif season the government would provide urea and seeds.
